BIOCONTROL Canarias, SL is a company specialized in the field of technology, food safety and hygiene. Its work is based on prevention, providing the level of quality required by the medical technician legislation relying on the implementation of system analysis and critical control points, audits, physical-chemical and microbiological testing of food, surfaces and water .

BIOCONTROL had long ago begun the process of implementing a quality management system ISO 9001 unsuccessfully, so in February 2011 the company contacted Plan B Group to restart the implementation and obtain the subsequent certification.

The implementation process of the Quality Management System conducted by Plan B Group consisted on the adaptation of the system previously introduced to the new ISO 9001. Part of the existing documentation was taken to be part of the new management system adapting it to the requirements of ISO 9001. Besides the decision to simplify the documentation by reducing the number of unifying procedures, for example, there were three different methods for treating the improvement actions and to simplifying them by saving effort to the organization. Additionally a number of good practices were raised by the experience of the consultants of Plan B Group in this sector. A defined methodology was not available to discuss the legal requirements in the organization, which is crucial for the large amount of legislation to be considered in food safety, so it was decided to identify all legislation point applicable and comply with it.

Simplifying the system and unification of procedures to improve efficiency.

BIOCONTROL received by Bureau Veritas in February 2012 the official certification of the management system under ISO 9001 Quality Standard, demonstrating to all its customers the excellence of its services.

The implementation of ISO 9001 has supposed to BIOCONTROL a better efficiency of operation of the organization by minimizing the possible errors that may arise and to project an image of competitive and differentiating business. Enhancing the image of the organization has increased the rate of customer satisfaction in their satisfaction surveys.

After the initial implementation of the system, BIOCONTROL continued with the collaboration of Plan B Group for conducting internal audits to be performed annually for renewal of the certificate. These audit missions are not only to verify compliance with the ISO 9001 standard to successfully meet the certification audit, but also responsible for reinforcing good practices being carried in the company and to propose those to ensure continuous improvement of the system.

Their confidence in Plan B Group in the recent quality certificate renovation in 2013 has demonstrated the good work of system maintenance done by their consultants and the organization itself.
